Tiina’s core expertise lies in translating sustainability goals into practical implementation and ensuring their delivery in complex projects. She brings a strong background in real estate and urban development, as well as extensive experience in business leadership, and process improvement.

Karoliina Lietonen
Senior Expert, Sustainable Construction & Real Estate
Sweco Finland

Karoliina Lietonen is an experienced sustainability professional and project manager with over 20 years of expertise in sustainable construction. She has played a key role in more than 30 BREEAM-certified building projects in Finland. Karoliina’s work covers the full lifecycle of sustainability management, from target setting and team guidance to implementation, monitoring, and reporting, with a strong focus on energy efficiency, material use, climate risk management, and circular economy. In addition, she has led lifecycle design teams and served as a climate and circular economy expert in major renovation projects, integrating ambitious carbon reduction and sustainability targets into project delivery. She holds qualifications in multiple environmental certification systems, including BREEAM, LEED, and the RTS Environmental Classification.
