Vienna hosts the winter conference
The EUROCONSTRUCT network gathers in Vienna on 19–20 November 2026 for its 102nd Conference, hosted by the Austrian Institute of Economic Research (WIFO) – the institute that also coordinates the network. The main conference day takes place at the House of Industry on Schwarzenbergplatz, one of the city’s grand Ringstraße-era palaces.
Three locations in central Vienna host the conference and its networking programme, all within a short walk or tram ride of one another.

What the conference delivers
The 102nd EUROCONSTRUCT Conference brings together Europe’s leading construction economists, analysts and industry decision-makers in Vienna, hosted by the Austrian Institute of Economic Research (WIFO). The evening of 19 November opens with a pre-conference networking event; the main conference day on 20 November at the House of Industry covers the macroeconomic scenario and detailed outlooks for housing, non-residential construction and civil engineering, each paired with invited lectures from leading industry experts.

Michael Weingärtler has been researching the construction industry at the Austrian Institute of Economic Research (WIFO) for more than two decades, working within the "Regional Economics and Spatial Analysis" group on housing policy, financing, innovation, sustainability, procurement, and ongoing market monitoring. He manages EUROCONSTRUCT's network's activities, co-authors its forecast reports, supports its strategic development, and regularly presents findings at international conferences.
