Norway - full speed - the more you drive the more we build!

In general the outlook is very positive. The mainland economy of Norway is expected (June 2006) to grow by 2,7% this year, 1,8% next year and 2,3% in 2008. The economy is now working nearly at full strength and the growth rate would have been even higher with more qualified labour available. There is a strong sense of optimism among the households (there is 29% more optimists than pessimist), in the manufacturing enterprises and in the business community in general. This positive development has already caused centralisation to speed up and net growth in population is record high, much thanks to net migration. This picture is likely to continue throughout the forecast period 2006 - 2008.

All the segments in the building and civil engineering sectors are experiencing a strong demand for their goods and services. As you may see in the Euroconstruct Report Norway is ranked very high in a per capita perspective when it comes to investments levels for the construction industries. Why is this?
