Prof. Karl Aiginger, Austrian Institute of Economic Research, Vienna, Austria
Prof. Karl Aiginger is Director of WIFO - the Austrian Institute of Economic Research. He is Professor of Economics at the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration and at the University of Linz. More information at: http://karl.aiginger.wifo.ac.at/

WIFO is the leading research institute in Austria, with the main focus on empirical economic research. It provides forecasts and analyses of all economic sectors, also on the construction sector, on a regular basis. Furthermore, WIFO analysis the development of the EU-member states and the Austrian neighbour countries.
 
Georg Busch, EU DG Economic and Financial Affairs, Brussels, Belgium
Dr. Georg Busch studied Law and Economics at the University of Vienna. He joined the European Commission in Brussels in 1997, where he is currently Head of Unit in the Directorate-General for Economic and Financial Affairs (DG ECFIN) responsible for the Member States Germany, Austria, Sweden, Finland and Denmark.

Earlier on, he worked for extended periods at the Austrian Institute of Economic Research (WIFO) and the OECD Secretariat in Paris as research and policy analyst in the areas of macro-economics and public finances.
Patrick de La Morvonnais, BIPE, Paris, France
Patrick de La Morvonnais is BIPE's Research Director. He is a specialist of housing markets and housing public policies in France and in Europe. Patrick is in charge of housing research (forecasting demand, public policies evaluation, international comparisons, financing of housing) and Coordinator of the Euroconstruct network.

His activities also cover demography (housing migrations) and its economical impacts. He has conducted numerous strategic missions aiming at adapting housing, products, services and equipment offer at the local level.
 
Prof. Pekka Pajakkala, VTT, Tampere, Finland
Prof. Pekka Pajakkala works for VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland. He is Vice President in Business Solutions and in charge of VTT's services for the Real Estate and Construction sector.

He has been active in the field of construction market, business and technology foresights, costs and prices as well as competitiveness already for 35 years. He is member of many national and international expert groups for business outlook, costs and economy. Finland has been member of EUROCONSTRUCT since 1986. VTT is focussing nowadays on the outlook and development of Russian, Baltic and Nordic construction market.
Erich Gluch, ifo Institute for Economic Research, Munich, Germany
Erich Gluch is senior researcher at the Ifo Institute for Economic Research in Munich with over 30 years experience. His main research focus covers analyses and forecasts of the German and European construction, housing and real estate markets as well as future trend research.
 
Margarete Czerny, Austrian Institute of Economic Research, Vienna, Austria
Dr. Margarete Czerny is head of construction and housing policy and she is managing research programs in the field of construction industry, housing and infrastructure as well as East-West co-operation at the Austrian Institute of Economic Research in Vienna.

As a consultant for the World Bank and as member of the Euroconstruct Network she organized international conferences on infrastructure and housing policy in Western and Eastern Europe. She is an economic policy advisor to the Austrian government and cooperates with the European Union, UNIDO and other international institutions such as UNECE. She is represented in numerous national and international advisory boards and other bodies for economic policy in the construction industry.
Anna Gaspar, General Director Build Econ, Hungary
Anna Gaspar is managing director of BuildEcon. She is specialised in research, and prognoses of the construction markets in countries under transition in the Eastern European region.
 
Hannes Truntschnig, Managing Board, STRABAG SE
Hannes Truntschnig was born on July 22, 1956. He studied business administration at the University of Graz and obtained his Masters degree in 1981. Mr. Truntschnig joined the STRABAG Group (ILBAU AG) in 1981. Since 1985, Mr. Truntschnig held several management positions within the STRABAG Group, including positions as managing director of Group companies.

Since 1995 Mr. Truntschnig has been a Member of the Management Board of the Company.
Khaled Hegazy, HEGAZY Co., Egypt
Khaled Hegazy, graduated from Faculty of Engineering Cairo University is Vice Chairman of HEGAZY Co. based in Cairo, which was established in 1986.
He is specialized in trading of building materials with cement to be the main activity. Also acting as a consultant in the cement market analysis for Middle East and Africa. And member of Gerson Lehrman Consultancy Group.
Baris Onay, Building Information Center, Turkey
Baris Onay studied architecture at Istanbul Technical University and then urban planning at Ecole d'Architecture Paris-Belleville. He worked at the executive committee of the UICB (international union of building centres, (www.uicb.org) and is one of the founding members of the TCTP (Turkish National Technology Platform (www.tctp.org)

Currently he is at the higher management of the Building Information Centre as coordinator.

His speech will be about the development of investment markets and office markets in CEE over recent years, investment volumes, origin and destination of investments, office development markets, rents and vacany rates in the main office markets in the region.

Nikolay Todorov Nikolay Todorov, dep. editor in chief of Stroitelstvo Gradat (Construction & City) weekly - Bulgaria's leading B2B edition for construction and investments published in partnership with Handelsblatt. The main responsibilities include editing and writing articles and analyses of national and international interest with a focus on construction sector trends, major projects abroad, tenders, etc. Working in close cooperation with Real Estate Index magazine and Balkan Consultancy Center affiliated to the same group of companies. University studies of French and Russian with a specialization in Marketing.

Mr. Robert Schmid is general director of Wopfinger building materials (Baumit) and of the Schmid industry holding GmbH. The Baumit group is the largest segment of the Schmid holding and it is making business in more than 10 Eastern European contries in the field of construction materials. The participation in these Eastern markest started before the fall of the "Iron Courtain" more than ten years ago and will go on continously.
